Newly-promoted Cesena climbed to the top of Serie A on Sunday with a 1-0 win over Lecce, while Inter and Juventus also recorded impressive wins. The Serie A newcomers held off Lecce despite playing most of the match with one player less following the controversial sending- off of Giuseppe Colucci in the 38th minute. Albanian Erjon Bogdani, who had scored in the victory over AC Milan two weeks ago, netted the winner in the 55th minute.
It was Yuto Nagamoto that committed a foul, but referee Gianluca Rochhi red-carded Golucci. The wronged player disclosed after the game that Rochhi admitted he had made a mistake. Cesena are joined on seven points after three games by champions Inter, who won 2-1 at Palermo thanks to a second-half brace from Samuel Eto’o.
