In hindsight, that was all the offensive support Dodgers starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani needed, but the offense tacked on single runs in three other innings and the bullpen threw four scoreless innings after Ohtani’s five scoreless, and Los Angeles wins the series over the Padres and leaves San Diego with a 1.5-game lead in the NL West.
