Yugo Maeda and Shioon Matsuo formed a battery as seniors and juniors at Osaka Toin High School and won the Koshien championship. At the press conference before the interleague game, senior Matsuo mentioned Maeda as a player he wanted to play against, and the first showdown, which was expected to be the centerpiece of this year’s interleague game, finally took place.
