Roberts said Ohtani’s recent power isn’t the result of a major adjustment.
“He was already hitting the ball hard. He was just barely missing it.”
The Dodgers manager explained that Ohtani was consistently producing hard contact, doubles, and quality at-bats before the home runs started returning.
“When he uses the big part of the field, there’s no one better.”
Roberts also praised Justin Wrobleski for attacking hitters from the first pitch and helping lead Los Angeles to a quick, old-school victory.
“He goes as hard as he can for as long as he can.”
The Dodgers improved behind another strong pitching performance, stellar defense, and a timely home run from Ohtani.
