Local Japanese students in Tennessee cheered on the Samurai Blue in Nashville as Japan continued preparations for their 2026 FIFA World Cup Group F match against Tunisia.

The students welcomed the Japan squad, delivered a message of support, posed for photos and presented captain Kou Itakura with a Japanese flag covered in messages.

Ritsu Doan, Keito Nakamura and Yuki Sugawara also spoke ahead of the Tunisia match, with Japan focused on building towards their next World Cup test.
