Trail running-hiking route with a climb to the Mound of Wheat. We leave the Port of Navacerrada, we take part of the Camino Schmidt and the Senda de los Cospes to reach the Port of Fuenfría. From there, we climbed Cerro Minguete, to then reach the Montón de Trigo, where we met Daniel, another trail runner who was going towards La Mujer Muerta, so we went down with him to the Collado de Tirobarra, where we separated. He continues his path to the west and I head east to reach the forest track that goes down towards Valsaín, along which I continue for only about 200 meters uphill, to take a path to the left that takes me through the pine forest following the Royonda stream. Upon reaching a loading dock in the Cimmerian Village Meadow, I take the GR 10.1, which takes me down to the Eresma River, right near the Bath of Venus. From there, I go up the river and cross the road to the Fuente de la Cantina. Then, I go up the Arroyo del Puerto del Paular along a very beautiful path, between pine trees, rocks covered with moss, holly trees and still green ferns. I do the last 3-4 km along the Sotela path, ascending almost 400 meters until I reach Puerto de Navacerrada again. In total, 21 km of route with more than 1000 m of accumulated elevation gain for the last Sunday in June. #running #runner #hiking #trail #HeapofWheat
