The Los Angeles Dodgers had a mixed day on Wednesday, doing media, working out and preparing for the first Spring Training game of the year.

Shohei Ohtani joined his teammates in taking official photos and then took batting practice. The Japanese superstar said he is on schedule in his preparations for the season and is hoping to get 50 at bats before Opening Day, whether they be in batting practice or in games.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that Ohtani won’t play in the Dodgers’ Cactus League opener Thursday against San Diego.

The Dodgers open the season 20 March against the Padres in Seoul, South Korea.
